Ukraine Deploys New Radio-Interference System to Counter Russian Drones

Defense News ,Ukraine & Russia War :- In a strategic move to enhance its defense capabilities, Ukraine has recently introduced a cutting-edge electronic warfare system designed to neutralize unmanned aerial systems (UAS) through sophisticated radio interference techniques.

Developed as part of the Brave 1 cluster, this counter-drone system emits "white noise" specifically in the frequency range of 850-940 MHz, effectively disrupting the radio frequencies used by drones, as reported by Censor.Net.

The system's remarkable capabilities allow it to disable a drone from a significant distance of 250 meters (820 feet) when the unmanned platform is operated from as far as 3,000 meters (9,842 feet), providing a substantial defensive radius, according to the outlet.

Utilizing passive detection mechanisms, the system is adept at evading potential countermeasures employed by adversaries. Moreover, it boasts the capability to suppress transmissions from GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and Beidou satellite navigation systems, further limiting the effectiveness of the targeted drones.

Weighing a mere 3 kilograms (6.6 pounds) without a battery, the system offers agility and portability. Additionally, it features a tripod option for convenient vehicle installation, while an upcoming backpack version is currently in development.

The system's swift activation time, initiating within a mere second, underscores its responsiveness in critical situations. Following successful trials in operational environments, Ukraine's armed forces have recommended the system for codification and registration, paving the way for future supply enhancements as part of the nation's defense infrastructure.
