US Marines Partner with Mack Defense to Craft Medium Tactical Truck
Defense News ,U.S :- The US Marine Corps recently made a deal with Mack Defense to create a brand-new kind of truck called the Medium Tactical Truck (MTT). These trucks are going to replace the older Oshkosh trucks that the marines use for things like carrying stuff, clearing roads, towing, and delivering supplies during missions.
These new trucks are designed to work well both on and off the road, with a special ability to drive through water that's up to five feet deep.
In the beginning, Mack will plan out three different versions of the MTT truck. These will have cargo beds of different lengths: 10, 15, and 20 feet.
One cool thing about these trucks is that they'll use a mix of electricity and regular fuel, which should save on how much fuel they use. They'll also have a generator on board that can give power to other things when needed.
They're also going to have some special features to keep the soldiers safe and make driving easier, like being able to run quietly and having advanced safety systems.
Aside from these new MTT trucks, Mack Defense is also working on another type of truck called the Common Tactical Truck (CTT). These trucks are going to be more modern and have fancy features like hybrid technology and extra safety measures. They're going to work on these trucks together with another company called BAE Systems to make them use less fuel.
Other companies are also helping out to make these trucks a reality. These include Navistar, Oshkosh, and a team made up of American Rheinmetall Vehicles and GM Defense. They're all working on different parts of the new trucks to make sure they're the best they can be for the marines.
