US Air Force Tests ARRW Hypersonic Missile

Defense News ,U.S :-   The US Air Force recently completed a crucial test of a new type of weapon. This weapon is called a hypersonic weapon, which means it moves incredibly fast. The test was the final step to see if the weapon worked well. The Air Force had some doubts about this weapon before, but they still wanted to try it out.

In the test, they used a big airplane called a B-52H bomber to carry the new weapon. The test happened at a place called the Reagan Test Site in the Marshall Islands. The goal was to see if the weapon could do its job from start to finish.

The Air Force didn't say if the test was a total success, but they learned a lot from it. They got useful information about how well the weapon works. They also figured out better ways to test weapons like this in the future.

Back in December 2022, the Air Force was excited because they thought they had a successful test. They said the weapon did everything it was supposed to do. But then, things started to go wrong. They had more tests in March, August, and October 2023, but these didn't go as planned.

The boss of the Air Force, Frank Kendall, hinted that the test in March 2023 didn't work out. This made people worry about the whole project. The person in charge of buying things for the Air Force, Andrew Hunter, said they would stop working on this type of weapon. They only wanted to finish the tests they had already planned and get some important information.

But the Air Force isn't giving up on hypersonic weapons altogether. They have another project called the Hypersonic Attack Cruise Missile (HACM). This one is different from the first weapon. It's smaller and can be used in different ways. They seem more hopeful about this project.

In fact, they're planning to spend a lot of money on it. They want to spend $517 million on the HACM by 2025. But they're not planning to spend any more money on the first weapon. They're focusing all their efforts and money on the new project instead.

So, while the first hypersonic weapon might not have worked out as planned, the Air Force is still looking for ways to make new and better weapons in the future.
