Terror Attack in Moscow: Prime Minister Modi Condemns the Tragedy

Defense News ,India :-  Prime Minister Narendra Modi strongly condemned a terrible terrorist attack that happened during a crowded concert in Moscow. He called it a dreadful act and expressed solidarity with the Russian government and its people.

The ISIS claimed they were responsible for the attack at a concert venue near Moscow. The incident occurred on Friday, leaving at least 60 people dead and 145 injured. Assailants entered the venue with guns and explosive devices, causing chaos and destruction, as reported by CNN.

PM Modi expressed his condolences and support for the victims' families and the Russian government through his official communication channel. He condemned the attack and assured India's solidarity with Russia during this tragic time.

Reports state that a group of armed individuals stormed into the Crocus City Hall concert venue in Moscow. They began shooting and detonating explosives among the crowd. The ISIS released a statement claiming responsibility for the attack through their affiliated news agency on Telegram, but they didn't provide any evidence to support their claim.

Videos from the scene showed the concert venue engulfed in flames, with thick smoke filling the air. People were seen panicking, screaming, and seeking shelter as gunshots echoed through the hall. According to RIA Novosti, the attackers used automatic weapons and threw grenades or incendiary bombs, causing a fire to break out. They reportedly fled the scene in a white Renault car.

US officials confirmed the ISIS's claim shortly after the attack. They had previously informed Russian officials about intelligence suggesting an impending attack. The ISIS, particularly its branch ISIS-K based in Afghanistan, has been planning attacks on Moscow for some time. Despite the group's diminished capabilities, it has been attempting to carry out attacks outside its usual territories.

The ISIS-K has criticized Russian President Vladimir Putin in its propaganda, blaming Russia for various conflicts in Muslim-majority regions like Afghanistan, Chechnya, and Syria. The US has been actively monitoring and warning about potential ISIS threats, including the recent attacks in Moscow and Iran.

In response to the tragedy, Moscow authorities mobilized emergency services to rescue victims. Medical teams, including ambulance crews and doctors, were deployed to assist the injured. Over 115 people were hospitalized, including five children, with 60 in serious condition, according to the Russian Health Ministry.

Regional leaders urged residents to donate blood to help treat the victims, emphasizing the urgency of the situation. The attack marks one of the deadliest terrorist incidents in Moscow in recent history, prompting widespread shock and condemnation.

Prime Minister Modi's condemnation of the attack reflects global solidarity in the face of terrorism. As investigations continue, authorities are focused on providing support to the victims and ensuring the perpetrators are brought to justice.
