Teledyne FLIR Defense Unveils Rogue 1: Advanced Loitering Munition System for Special Operations

U.S

Teledyne FLIR Defense introduces Rogue 1, a cutting-edge loitering munition system, at SOF Week. With advanced cameras and modular payloads, Rogue 1 delivers precise strikes for modern warfare needs.

Teledyne FLIR Defense, a leading U.S. company, has unveiled its latest innovation, the Rogue 1 loitering munition system, at the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Week convention in Tampa. This new system, also known as a "suicide drone," is a small unmanned aerial system (sUAS) designed for precise and lethal strikes against various targets.

The Rogue 1 stands out with its advanced electro-optical and FLIR Boson 640+ thermal cameras, providing exceptional day and night reconnaissance capabilities with high accuracy. What makes it unique is its fuzing system, which allows for safe recovery and reuse, making it cost-effective and adaptable for different missions. Its gimballed payload enables precise targeting, while its modular payloads offer flexibility for different mission needs, including options for lethal and non-lethal strikes.

With a flight time of 30 minutes, speeds exceeding 70 mph, and a range of over six miles, the Rogue 1 surpasses existing weapon systems, making it suitable for today’s complex battlefield environments. Its integration into military operations enhances versatility, survivability, and lethality, meeting the evolving demands of modern warfare.

Dr. JihFen Lei, Executive Vice President and General Manager of Teledyne FLIR Defense, highlighted the significance of the Rogue 1 in providing troops with a decisive edge on the frontlines. Its selection by the U.S. Marine Corps for the Organic Precision Fires-Light (OPF-L) program underscores its potential impact on future operations.
