Russia Launches Kinzhal Hypersonic missiles at Kiev in Latest Attack

Defense News ,Russia & Ukraine War :- In a recent wave of aggression, Russia deployed multiple Kinzhal hypersonic missiles, striking the Ukrainian capital of Kiev on Tuesday in a relentless assault that caused widespread damage and casualties, according to reports from the Ukrainian air force.

As the missiles rained down on the city, at least 16 people were injured in a tower block, leading to a fire, as conveyed by Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko on Telegram. Fifteen of the victims were subsequently hospitalized. Tragically, other casualties were reported, including the death of an elderly woman in the aftermath of various missile hits.

Residents of Kiev endured the terrifying sounds of loud explosions, with power outages affecting several neighborhoods. The assault targeted civil infrastructure, resulting in damage to a gas pipeline and disruptions to the water supply.

The impact of the attacks extended beyond Kiev, with airstrikes reported in different parts of Ukraine. In the eastern city of Kharkiv, authorities confirmed one fatality and more than 20 injuries as a result of the onslaught.

Russia relentless bombardment of Ukraine has escalated in recent nights, adding to the protracted conflict that has gripped the region for nearly two years. The situation prompted heightened vigilance in neighboring Poland, a NATO and European Union member.

In response to the escalating crisis, Poland closely monitored the air strikes against Ukraine. For safety reasons, two F-16 fighter jets each from the Polish and US air forces took to the skies, as announced on the X social media platform. Unlike Ukraine, Poland dual membership in NATO and the European Union has implications for its involvement in the conflict.

Highlighting the gravity of the situation, the Polish General Staff reported an alarming incident where a Russian missile briefly entered Polish airspace on Friday before redirecting towards Ukraine. The event underscores the broader regional implications of the conflict and the urgency for international intervention to address the escalating crisis.
