Russia Figher Jet Intercepted Three French Aircraft Over Black Sea Boarder

Defense News ,Russia :- Russia's defense ministry announced on Tuesday that it deployed a Su-27 fighter jet to thwart a potential violation of the Russian state border by three French aircraft over the Black Sea. Such encounters have been common, predating Russia's 2022 offensive in Ukraine.

In a statement, the Russian defense ministry explained, "To prevent a violation of the Russian state border, a Su-27 fighter aircraft was dispatched into the air." The crew successfully identified an "E-3F long-range radar aircraft and two Rafale-S multirole fighters from the French air force" in the Black Sea vicinity.

As the Russian fighters approached, the foreign military aircraft executed a U-turn, steering clear of Russian Federation borders. The ministry emphasized that there was no documented breach of the border during the incident.

This episode adds to a series of similar encounters over the Black Sea. Notably, in March 2023, tensions escalated between Moscow and Washington when a US Reaper drone collided with a Russian fighter jet, resulting in a crash over the Black Sea.
