The presence of hired performers dancing to music, with Chief Executive Officer Syed Abu Bakar Qureshi of the Project Management Unit (PMU) and other officials joining in the festivities, further fueled the backlash.

Giani Gobind Singh, the granthi of Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, was allegedly present at the event, prompting questions about his involvement or approval of the proceedings. The incident has provoked outrage among Sikh communities, who consider the Kartarpur Gurudwara Sahib a place of profound spiritual significance and tranquility.
