Pakistan to Upgrade F-16s with Turkish Bozdoğan Short-Range Air-to-Air Missiles

Defense News ,Pakistan :- The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is getting a major upgrade by getting the new  Bozdoğan short-range air-to-air missile (WVRAAM) from Turkey. This was announced after a meeting between Pakistani and Turkish military officials, showing a deeper military partnership between the two countries.

The  Bozdoğan missile, which is replacing Pakistan’s old AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, has some cool features. It comes with a high-resolution Imaging Infrared (IIR) seeker head, can resist electronic warfare, and is very maneuverable. With a range of 25 kilometers and a speed of Mach 3, it's great for air-to-air combat. The IIR seeker also lets the missile take on cruise missiles, adding more defense flexibility.

During a meeting between General  İrfan Özsert from the Turkish military and Pakistan Air Force Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, it was confirmed that Pakistan would acquire the  Bozdoğan missile. The meeting also highlighted their commitment to strengthen military ties through joint working groups focused on technology development and capability exchanges.

This news is coming at a time of increasing tensions in the region and a strategic partnership between Pakistan and Turkey. While we don't know the exact number of  Bozdoğan missiles Pakistan is getting, this deal is a big step in making Pakistan's air defense capabilities more modern.
