New Abrams Tank Service Center Opens in Poznan, Poland
Defense News ,Poland :- In Poznan, Poland, there's now a special place just for fixing and taking care of Abrams tanks, which are very powerful battle vehicles. This place was set up inside the Military Automotive Works, part of PGZ, a big company owned by the Polish government that deals with defense stuff.
The idea to create this service spot came from both the Polish Military Automotive Works and General Dynamics Land Systems from America, the company that makes these tanks. They started planning this in June last year when they agreed to work together to make sure the Abrams tanks used by Poland's army could be well maintained and serviced.
This new service center is pretty important because it can do all sorts of maintenance and repairs on the Abrams tanks that Poland's army uses. Not only that, but it can also help out the U.S. Army's tanks that are in Poland and other places in Europe.
Poland is really beefing up its military because, in 2022, it made a deal with the United States to buy 250 of the very latest Abrams tanks by the end of 2026. And they didn't stop there; in 2023, Poland decided to buy another 116 of these tanks. So, having a place to take care of all these tanks is super important.
