Netherlands to Deploy PATRIOT Air Defence System in Lithuania

Defense News ,Netherland :-   In response to recent airspace violations and escalating tensions in Eastern Europe, the Netherlands has announced plans to deploy a unit of the PATRIOT air and missile defence system in Lithuania for an upcoming exercise. This decision was confirmed by Dutch Minister of Defence Kajsa Ollongren on March 28, following reports of yet another airspace violation over Poland by a Russian cruise missile.

The exercise, scheduled to take place this summer, is aimed at bolstering the collective air and missile defence capabilities along NATO's eastern flank. Emphasizing the need for swift deployment and combat readiness, the Dutch Ministry of Defence outlined that the primary objective of the exercise is to enhance the operational effectiveness of air defence units. Dutch personnel operating the PATRIOT air defence system will undergo joint training exercises with Lithuanian soldiers to strengthen cooperation and interoperability.
