NASA Administrator To Visit India For Meetings With Scientists

Nasa Administrator Bill Nelson is set to embark on a visit to India on November 27, focusing on discussions surrounding space collaboration between the two nations. This visit is part of the Critical and Emerging Technology initiative, jointly led by the United States and India under the guidance of President Joe Biden.

Scheduled meetings with key government and space officials will delve into enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in realms like human exploration and Earth science. Nelson itinerary includes visits to various locations in India, with a spotlight on Bengaluru-based facilities overseeing the testing and integration of the NISAR spacecraft, slated for launch in 2024. In a notable engagement, students will engage with Nelson to explore topics related to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education, embodying their roles as contributors to the Artemis Generation.

The NISAR mission, a collaborative effort between Nasa and the Indian Space Research Organization (Isro), aims to observe Earth, measuring changes in ecosystems, dynamic surfaces, and ice masses.
