Ministry of Defence Signs ₹642-Crore Deal with BEL for 28 Critical Systems for Indian Navy

In a significant move to bolster the Indian Navy's operational prowess, the Ministry of Defence has entered into a contract worth Rs 642.17 crore with Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL). This agreement focuses on the procurement of 28 EON-51 Electro Optical Fire Control Systems, designated for 11 new-generation offshore patrol vessels and three cadet training ships.

The EON-51 is an advanced Electro Optical Fire Control System designed to enhance maritime surveillance and targeting capabilities. Key features of the EON-51 include:
