Maharashtra Expo Boosts Local Defense Production and MSME Collaboration

Defense News ,India :- The Maharashtra MSME Defence Expo successfully concluded, emphasizing the importance of working with small businesses and promoting local manufacturing.


During the closing ceremony, Chief of Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar highlighted the need to create an environment for local production. He praised the expo for bringing together many small businesses, stating that such events play a crucial role in developing the country's defense capabilities.


Admiral Kumar shared the expo's success, revealing that more than 118 contracts were signed, and around 10–12 products were approved. This demonstrates how startups and small businesses gained valuable opportunities for collaboration and growth in the defense sector.


The focus on local production and involving small businesses aligns with India's goal of achieving self-sufficiency in defense. These efforts have the potential to significantly enhance India's defense capabilities and position the country as a global leader in defense production by fostering collaboration between established companies and small businesses.
