J-K: Human Trafficking Network Busted, Rohingya Man among 5 Arrested in Bandipora

Bandipora Police apprehended five individuals, including a Rohingya national, on Monday, as part of an operation targeting a human trafficking network operating in Jammu and Kashmir. According to officials, the arrests were made in connection with human trafficking, and one of the detainees was identified as Manzoor Alam, a Rohingya individual.

A senior police officer disclosed that the accused were allegedly engaged in trafficking Rohingya women by routing them through Bangladesh. Subsequently, they facilitated marriages between these women and local residents within the Union Territory (UT) in return for financial gains.

"The individuals trafficked Rohingya women via Bangladesh, orchestrating marriages with locals in the UT in exchange for monetary benefits," stated Bandipora Police.

In response to these developments, the police have taken prompt action by initiating an investigation into the matter. The arrests shed light on the illicit activities of a human trafficking network that exploited vulnerable individuals for financial motives within the region.
