India's Defence Exports Reach Historic High, Surpass Rs 21,000 Crore Mark : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh

Defense News ,India :-  India's Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently shared a significant update on the country's defence sector. In a social media post, he announced that India's defence exports have achieved an unprecedented milestone, crossing Rs 21,000 crore for the first time since Independence.


In the fiscal year 2023-24, India's defence exports soared to an impressive Rs 21,083 crore, marking a remarkable growth rate of 32.5% compared to the previous fiscal year.


This achievement reflects the diligent efforts and strategic initiatives undertaken by the Defence Ministry, particularly under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to bolster India's defence manufacturing capabilities and promote indigenous defence production.


Various initiatives implemented by the Defence Ministry have contributed to this success, creating a conducive environment for both public and private sectors to actively participate in India's defence exports.


Approximately 50 Indian companies, from both public and private sectors, have played a crucial role in this feat, showcasing commendable innovation, efficiency, and quality standards.


India's defence exports now span across 84 countries and regions worldwide, highlighting the growing demand for Indian defence products and the increasing recognition of India's capabilities in meeting global security needs.


Key defence items being exported include Personal Protective Items, Offshore Patrol Vehicles, ALH Helicopters, SU Avionics, Coastal Surveillance Systems, Light Engineering Mechanical Parts, and Kavach MoD, among others.


These cutting-edge defence technologies and equipment have garnered significant interest from international buyers, solidifying India's position as a leading exporter of defence hardware.
