India Issues Warning to Citizens, Avoid Travel to Myanmar's Rakhine State

Defense News ,India :- India has given advice to its citizens, telling them not to go to the Rakhine state in Myanmar because the security situation there is getting worse. The Ministry of External Affairs said that there are problems with communication, like phones not working, and there's not enough basic things like food and other important items in Rakhine State. The advisory from the MEA says, "Because the security is getting worse, communication is not good, and there's not enough necessary things, we tell all Indian citizens not to go to Rakhine State in Myanmar."

The advisory also tells Indian citizens who are already in Rakhine State to leave right away. The statement adds, "If you are already in Rakhine State, please leave immediately." Last week, India showed worry about the situation in Myanmar getting worse and asked for a quick solution to the conflict so that peace and stability can return to the country.

During its weekly press briefing, the Ministry of External Affairs stressed that India has been supporting the idea of ending all violence and helping Myanmar become a democracy that includes everyone. Recently, there has been an increase in violent incidents in Myanmar after three different ethnic groups launched a joint attack last October, taking control of some towns and military posts. Experts say this is the biggest challenge for the government since it took control in 2021.

Because of the violence, many people from Myanmar moved to the Mizoram state in India along the border. This happened after the Myanmar army did airstrikes in the border areas. Myanmar also marked the third anniversary of the military coup on February 1, when the military took control in a coup three years ago.
