Hezbollah Attack on Israeli Army Base Wounds 14 Soldiers

Hezbollah, the Lebanon-based militant group, has claimed responsibility for an attack on an Israeli army base near the border. The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, is the latest escalation in a series of clashes between Hezbollah and Israel.

According to Israel's military, the attack resulted in the injury of 14 soldiers, with six reported to be in serious condition. Hezbollah stated that the assault involved guided missiles and explosive drones targeting a military reconnaissance command center in Arab al-Aramshe, a village in northern Israel near the Lebanese border.

The exchange of fire between Israel and Hezbollah has intensified in recent days. Tensions escalated further after Iran, a key ally of Hezbollah, launched a direct attack on Israel over the weekend in retaliation for an earlier strike on Tehran's Damascus consulate.

Hezbollah attributed the attack to Israel's alleged assassination of resistance fighters in Ain Baal and Shehabiya the day before. Israel reported that its strikes in south Lebanon resulted in the deaths of two Hezbollah commanders and another operative. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched rockets, injuring three people in Israel.

Monday witnessed Hezbollah targeting Israeli troops with explosive devices, injuring four soldiers who had crossed into Lebanese territory. This marked the first such attack in six months of clashes between the two parties.

The violence has taken a toll on both sides, with casualties reported in Lebanon and Israel. In Lebanon, at least 368 people, primarily Hezbollah fighters, have been killed, along with at least 70 civilians. In Israel, the military has reported the deaths of 10 soldiers and eight civilians near the northern border since the onset of hostilities.

The ongoing clashes have prompted tens of thousands of civilians to flee their homes on both sides of the border, raising concerns about the possibility of a full-scale conflict between Hezbollah and Israel, who last engaged in war in 2006.
