Germany Putting Pressure on India to Supply Artillery Shells to Resupply it to Ukraine

Defense News ,India :- In a recent report from Lenta.ru, it's mentioned that Germany is discussing the possibility of buying ammunition from India and then transferring it to the Ukrainian armed forces through intermediaries. According to Der Spiegel, India is hesitant to openly sell ammunition to Ukraine due to its friendly relations with Russia.

The German government has not provided any comments on this report.

India, while maintaining a neutral stance on the Russia-Ukraine war and advocating for a diplomatic solution, has offered humanitarian aid to Ukraine, including food and medical supplies.

It remains uncertain if Germany can successfully secure ammunition from India through intermediaries, as India might be hesitant to sell weapons to countries involved in armed conflicts. Additionally, it's unclear if India has the capacity to export large quantities of ammunition.

The global shortage of weapons and ammunition caused by the war in Ukraine has impacted many countries, including Germany. Facing a depleted stockpile, the German government is exploring various options to replenish it, including purchasing weapons from other countries. However, challenges are expected in obtaining the necessary weapons amid the current shortage.
