On April 18, the French Navy showcased its advanced military capabilities through a simultaneous launch of the Naval Cruise Missile (MdCN) from two distinct platforms. This notable event, as reported by the French Ministry of Defense, marked the first occasion where both a FREMM frigate, notably the Aquitaine, and a Suffren-class nuclear attack submarine collaborated to target a land-based site at the DGA missile test center in Landes.

The demonstration underscored the MdCN's adaptable deployment capabilities, capable of being launched from both surface vessels and submarines. This versatility poses a formidable challenge for potential adversaries, complicating their strategic planning by necessitating preparedness against threats emanating from various directions and operational domains. Equipped with a 300 kg high-explosive multipurpose warhead, the MdCN has a striking range of up to 1,400 km when launched from surface ships and up to 1,000 km when deployed from submarines.
