France Indicates Potential for Ground Operations in Ukraine 'At Some Stage'

Defense News ,France :- French President Emmanuel Macron talked about the chance of sending soldiers to Ukraine. This idea came up after he met with leaders from Germany and Poland.

Before, Macron said he wouldn't say no to the idea of sending troops to Ukraine. This made Germany and other European countries unhappy.

Macron still believes that there might be a need for action in Ukraine by Western countries. But he says they won't take the first step.

He said in an interview with Le Parisien newspaper that maybe, eventually, they might have to act on the ground to push back against Russian forces. But he insists France is capable of doing it.

There were arguments about this idea and also about giving long-range missiles to Ukraine. These arguments risked causing problems between the allies.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz didn't like Macron's earlier comment about not ruling out sending troops. He also didn't like Macron's words calling allies "cowards."

Macron, along with leaders from Germany and Poland, met in Berlin to show their support for Ukraine.

After the meeting, Macron said the three countries were together in their goal: to never let Russia win and to stand by Ukraine until the end.
