Attandeep Singh, a former militant associated with the Bhindrawala Tiger Force Militant Group, was shot dead by two assailants on a motorcycle in Balachaur on Wednesday night. Accompanied by his nephew, Attandeep was in his car when the attack took place. The police arrived at the scene and recovered a poster claiming responsibility for the murder, signed by one Gopi Nawanshahria.

Attandeep had previously been arrested by the Punjab Police in 2014 due to his ties with the militant group. After serving his term, he was released in 2019, and since then had been living with his family in Karnal, as he had no pending cases against him.

The police are investigating the incident further to determine the motives behind the attack and to apprehend the perpetrators.
