European Union Sends DOK-ING MV-10 Mine-Clearing Machine Aid to Ukraine

Defense News ,Europe :- In a recent visit to Ukraine by Josep Borrell, the High Representative of the European Union, the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine received a special mine-clearing system called DOK-ING MV-10.

This delivery is part of a support package worth EUR 25 million from the European Union for humanitarian demining in Ukraine. The package, announced at the EU-Ukraine Summit in February 2023, aims to address the urgent needs of Ukraine's mine action operators by providing essential equipment such as demining tools, vehicles, and robotic systems.

During the visit, Josep Borrell emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine in clearing areas liberated from mines left behind by Russian aggressors. The European equipment, like the DOK-ING MV-10 mine-clearing system, aims to make the work of Ukrainian de-miners safer and more efficient.

The MV-10 is a high-tech demining system that can clear both Anti-Personnel and Anti-Tank mines, along with other explosive remnants. It is designed to cover large areas, with a remote control feature for safe operation. The system can demine up to 4000 square meters per hour, including steep slopes. As part of the EU demining support, Ukrainian operators will receive specialized training to effectively use the MV-10 system.

Major General Bohdan Bondar, Head of Administration of the State Special Transport Service of Ukraine, expressed gratitude for the European Union's assistance. He mentioned that this advanced equipment would enhance the capabilities of Ukrainian forces, allowing them to demine de-occupied territories faster and safer. Given the extensive contamination caused by Russia's war of aggression, demining is crucial for Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction, ensuring the safe return of civilians and revitalization of economic activities in various sectors.
