The Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA), under the aegis of the Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), has achieved a notable milestone in India's quest for self-reliance in aeronautical technologies. The delivery of the first batch of indigenous Leading Edge Actuators and Airbrake Control Modules to Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) signifies a significant advancement in indigenous aerospace manufacturing capabilities.

These crucial components, integral to the Secondary Flight Control of the LCA Tejas aircraft, have undergone rigorous development and testing processes. The adoption of state-of-the-art servo-valve based electro-hydraulic servo actuators and control modules represents a culmination of ADA's steadfast efforts towards indigenous technological prowess.

Collaborating with esteemed institutions such as the Research Centre Imarat (RCI) in Hyderabad and the Central Manufacturing Technology Institute (CMTI) in Bengaluru, ADA aims to achieve self-reliance in these critical technologies. The successful completion of flight trials underscores the robustness of these components, paving the way for production clearance and enabling HAL to equip the Mk-1A variant of the LCA Tejas.

Production activities are currently underway at the Accessories Division of HAL in Lucknow, bolstering India's aerospace manufacturing capabilities. The collaborative efforts of both public and private industries, including Godrej Aerospace in Mumbai, have been instrumental in this endeavor. Additionally, the support of certification agencies such as CEMILAC and DGAQA has ensured adherence to stringent quality standards throughout the development and manufacturing process.

The commendable achievement has been lauded by the Secretary of the Department of Defence R&D, Chairman of DRDO, and Director General of ADA, who extended their congratulations to the entire team involved in this significant milestone. This accomplishment not only showcases India's growing prowess in indigenous aerospace technologies but also underscores the nation's commitment to bolstering its defense capabilities through self-reliance and innovation.
