BHEL Wins 1600 MW Thermal Project Order to Build New Power Plant for NTPC

Defense News ,India :- Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) announced on Tuesday that it won a contract to build a new power plant for NTPC. This plant, called the Singrauli Supercritical Thermal Power Plant (STPP) Stage-III, will produce 1,600 megawatts of power. It will be constructed next to an existing power station in Singrauli, Uttar Pradesh.


The Singrauli power station was set up by BHEL in 1982 and was NTPC's first power plant in the state. The machines BHEL installed there have been working really well since they were first turned on.


According to the announcement, BHEL secured this contract through a competitive bidding process. The project involves setting up two units, each capable of generating 800 megawatts of power, using the latest supercritical technology. BHEL will handle the entire process, including engineering, procurement, and construction.


To fulfill this project, BHEL will supply essential equipment from its manufacturing units located in Haridwar, Trichy, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Ranipet, and Bhopal.
