BAE Systems Bofors and the Swedish Defence Materiel Administration (FMV) have taken a significant step toward bolstering Sweden's air defence capabilities with the signing of a letter of intent to develop the TRIDON Mk2 air defence system. This announcement, made at AUSA 2024 in Washington, signals Sweden’s growing need for more advanced solutions to counter the increasing threats posed by drones and other aerial technologies. The system is based on nearly 90 years of innovation by BAE Systems Bofors, with roots tracing back to the Bofors gun systems developed in the 1930s.
