Armenia Procures Three Variants of Pinaka Rocket Launcher System From India

Defense News ,India :-  In a significant move for Indian defense exports, Armenia has purchased three advanced versions of the domestically built Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launcher (MBRL) system. The deal, valued at around US$265 million (Rs 2,000 crore), marks the first international sale of the Pinaka system.

Satyanarayan Nandlal Nuwal, Chairman of Solar Industries India Limited, a major manufacturer of the Pinaka, confirmed the deal. Armenia's order, placed last year, consists of four Pinaka batteries along with other defense equipment.

The Pinaka system is available in three main variants:

1. Pinaka Mk-I: The standard model provides reliable firepower with a range of 37.5 kilometers.

2. Pinaka Mk-I Enhanced: This upgraded version extends the range to 45 kilometers.

3. Guided Pinaka: The most advanced version enables precision-guided strikes at a range of up to 75 kilometers.

Nuwal emphasized the cost-effectiveness of the Pinaka system as a significant selling point. Its competitive pricing has attracted considerable interest from other countries, which are now in talks with Solar Industries for potential purchases.

This landmark deal underlines India's increasing aspirations as a key defense exporter, marking a pivotal moment for the country's defense industry and opening up new avenues for international collaboration.
