7 More Indians Claim They Were Forced to Fight in Ukraine War by Russian Forces
Defense News ,India :- A recent online video has emerged, shedding light on the harrowing experiences of seven Indian nationals who claim they were deceived and compelled to fight alongside Russian forces in Ukraine.
The individuals assert that an unscrupulous travel agent misled them, coercing them into military service, contributing to a growing number of similar accounts from fellow Indian citizens in the region.
In the widely circulated video, the seven men don military fatigues within a cramped and disorderly room. Serving as a spokesperson for the group, one man recounts their ordeal.
According to the spokesperson, they initially traveled to Russia as tourists during the New Year holidays and were approached by an agent who promised to guide them on a sightseeing tour in Belarus.
However, upon reaching Belarus without the necessary visas, the agent allegedly extorted money from them and subsequently abandoned the group on a highway when they could not meet additional payment demands. The men's narrative suggests that they were then exploited and forced to participate in the Russian war effort.
Acknowledging these troubling allegations, the Indian government is actively investigating the situation.
In response to these incidents, Indian nationals are strongly advised to register with the Indian embassy when visiting any country bordering Ukraine and to exercise extreme vigilance in all their travel arrangements.
