2 Rafales to Greet Macron at Kartavya Path on Republic Day

Defense News ,India :- On January 26, during the Republic Day celebrations, the skies above Kartavya Path will be graced by a spectacular air display featuring aircraft from both India and France. French President Emmanuel Macron will be the chief guest at the event.


Defence Secretary Giridhar Aramane shared details about the parade, mentioning the participation of a 95-member marching contingent and a 33-member band contingent from France. In addition to the impressive display by the Indian Armed forces, the French Air Force will contribute one Multi Role Tanker Transport aircraft and two Rafale aircraft to the flypast.


The highlight of the flypast will be the presence of 51 aircraft, including 29 fighter aircraft, 8 transport planes, 13 helicopters, and one heritage aircraft. Among them will be notable planes like Rafale, Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Jaguar, C-130, and Tejas fighter jets. The Army Aviation Corps Helicopters and a P-8I maritime patrol aircraft from the Indian Navy will also take part in the flypast, showcasing various formations.


Scheduled to commence at 10:30 am, the parade promises a captivating display lasting approximately 90 minutes. It is a significant event with the participation of both Indian and French military contingents, adding a special touch to the Republic Day celebrations.
