J&K Police Announces ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh Cash Rewards For Reporting Anti-National Activities

Defense News ,India :- In a recent statement, the Jammu and Kashmir Police declared a cash reward system for individuals providing information on "anti-national activities" in the Union Territory.

According to the announcement made on Saturday, anyone sharing details about "anti-national activities" in Jammu and Kashmir is eligible to receive cash rewards ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹5 lakh.

The highest reward of ₹5 lakh will be granted to those who locate trans-border tunnels used by "anti-national elements" for transporting terrorists, explosives, and contraband consignments into Jammu and Kashmir from across the border, as per the police statement.

A reward of ₹3 lakh will be given to individuals providing information on drones flown from across the border to drop narcotics, arms, or explosive materials. This reward will be applicable if the information leads to the successful recovery of the materials, the statement added.

The police statement outlined that actionable intelligence about individuals connected with receiving drone deliveries, transporting arms, ammunition, and narcotics from the internal border or Line of Control (LoC) to the hinterland or Punjab, will be rewarded with ₹3 lakh, provided the intelligence is corroborated during subsequent actions.

For those contributing to the busting of inter-state narcotic modules or providing accurate information about individuals communicating with Pakistan-based terrorist handlers or jailed separatists, leading to successful module busts during subsequent investigations, a reward of ₹2 lakh will be given, according to the police statement.

Similarly, a reward of ₹2 lakh is specified for individuals offering information about those communicating with terrorist handlers across the border or with their agents within Jammu and Kashmir. This reward also applies to individuals branding citizens as Mukhbir (police informers) and passing on their personal details like photo, address, movements of off-duty policemen, other security personnel, or government servants for targeting. The information must be corroborated during the investigation initiated upon receipt of the information.

The police statement further mentioned a ₹1 lakh reward for individuals providing information about persons in mosques, madrasas, schools, or colleges who encourage, induce, or incite people to join terrorist ranks or take up arms, with the condition that the information is corroborated during the investigation.
